Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Jersey Arms Hotel in Bicester, I experienced a blend of history and warmth that truly made our short visit a little slice of comfort. Nestled in a charming old coaching inn with 800 years of character, this hotel provided an inviting atmosphere perfect for unwinding after a journey with friends. My room was spacious and well-equipped, offering the modern amenities one would expect, yet preserved the quaint charm that befits its storied past. The en suite was particularly comfortable, allowing us to relax and recharge. Breakfast in the delightful oak-paneled dining room was a highlight; it was everything an English breakfast should be-hearty, generous, and freshly prepared, making it a wonderful start to our day of exploring. What stood out most, however, was the attention from the staff, particularly the chef, who made it a point to check in on us, showcasing a true passion for hospitality. The hotel's location also served as a convenient base for discovering the nearby Bicester Village shopping area, with its delightful mix of boutiques and eateries. Despite the need for some refurbishments, the Jersey Arms maintains a cozy atmosphere that I would certainly recommend to fellow travelers seeking comfort and authenticity.
